A school that protects and revives.

Each child is given a chance for a future with education and a chance to be saved in Jesus through Biblical teachings. Revival of Hope is a free Christian school founded in Cayes-Jamel, Haiti, by Lubien Fils in 2011. It serves as a safe haven for children, providing them with a free, accredited education, regular meals, and a nurturing environment. The school was founded after a major earthquake in 2010 that left many children orphaned and vulnerable.

A normal school schedule

Children are taught English, Math, Science, History, and Reading from grades 1st – 9th. They are also given 1 meal during the school day, which for most is their only meal for the day. Currently the school is placed in a church building with plywood that act as dividers to separate the grades.

Christian foundation

Each child has bible reading and teachings during their school day, allowing them the chance of eternal salvation.

The statistics they are up against

As a result of Haiti low economic status. Less than 5% of youth in Haiti have a complete high school education. Around 60% of children cannot make it past the 6th grade. Literacy rates are very low, with less than 80% of Haitians being literate. ROH has helped over 100 students make it past the 6th grade.

The risk for children in Haiti

Each child that does not go to school or get an education of any kind in Jacmel are at a very high risk of rastavek, which is child slavery, and/or sex trafficking, as well as malnourishment.

Opportunities for students

Learning English alone significantly increases job opportunities. Children who obtain a full education have a higher chance of creating long-term generational success.

Our pursuit for generational change

Most Haitians that receive a degree leave the country to pursue other opportunities, we want to change the city of Jacmel by empowering our graduates with skills to boost their economy and create more opportunities for generations to come.
